Hurry before they are gone

At long last I took a little time off yesterday to list some of my pretties! They are on eBay they are originals and they are for sale! Please visit my ebay page http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZseppie_inc
and bid on one before they are gone! Here are some examples but there are more so go see.

Well folks. As in previous blogs I said that I was going to start sewing dolls. Give the long awaited 3-D quality to my pretties. I did it, and I have to say they are pretty cute! I will give you a preview. Remember this will be for sale along with my Halloween original mixed media. These ladies are my first stab (not a sewing) but at doll making. Now I have recently (last night) graduated to sphere heads totally round!!!!!!!!!!!! I am excited. The preview I will show is without any of the little extra add ons I will be applying (ribbons, Halloween paraphernalia, etc..) But tell me what you think! This is my original pattern ! Now that I started it is hard to stop, but I really have to get back to my paintings. I only did ONE (ONE ONE ONE) new one this week AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... We know what I will be doing this weekend. But in my defense I did two dolls and they do take longer to love!

Please let me know what you think and don't forget to stop by my auctions and pick up an original. It is definitely a summer sale. Moving out the inventory!

I am going white water rafting this weekend I am soooo excited! I haven't been in years but I use to LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I hope we end up with nice weather. Lately it has been chilly, like Fall chilly (and to me that is the best weather there is). Speaking of strange weather my heart does go out to all those in the midst of storm Fay, stay safe.

I have enjoyed reading every ones blogs about their kids going back to school. I have yet to have such a wonderful experience since I don't have children but I bet it is a bottle of mixed emotions. But I too will be heading back to school. Hopefully soon. I want to redirect my current BA into a BS for teaching and not just any teaching but an Art teacher. It will be a long road but I am really hoping to get a start on it next Spring semester. We will see. Dreams dreams dreams. I have a way of dreaming too big.

Alright my Lovelys enough rambling for today, or as my mother would say (excuse the crudeness) diarrhea of the mouth.

I will take my leave. Let me know what you think!

Spooky Time

Hi Lovelys,

That is right as promised I have a sneek preview of my Halloween Collection. As perviously stated all these sweeties will be up for sale. You can all have your own orginal. The game plan is for the WHOLE month of Septmeber to list an Item every two days (Most will be on Ebay) Some things MIGHT be put on Etsy. Regardless I hope you have a great time shopping and getting in to mood for what I feel is the single most magical holiday of the year. The ghosts and gobblins come out to toil while witches fly and black cats link us to Hallows Eve's of late. Not to mention the fall so beautiful and enriched. Don't worry for those who don't share the same passion for Halloween as I do I will also be listing several Autumn items which are cat and witch free. So please enjoy this time with me and stay extra close becuase updates will be popping out of nowhere!!!!!!! *evil laugh***

Let me know what you think I LOVVVEEE feed back. I didn't put everything out becuase there has to be some suprises.

Tip of the day:

Common objects: Something I can't stress enough. Around the house everyday there are a million items you can you to make art. Can't draw a circle for a face? Use a cup for the outline! What about alumminum foil? I can think of a million thing to do with it, but have you tried to paint with it? I have done some great things with plastic wrap, alcohol, tissues, and newspaper. So never under estimate what you can do becuase you don't have 'art brands' or items. Art is all about creativity so why not!

Hello All my Lovelys!!!! Yes I am home and happy to be so. I had a great time but it is so nice to be back on the saddle. I did some Halloween paintings last night that I will be posting the first week of Sept. Please stay tuned to my ebay as I will be listing some items later today. I will make sure I make the announcement and put a link. But a friendly reminder you can always reach my ebay by using the My ebay link under must visit links.

Here is a little video that I compiled really fast (I still have to upload my real movie software (one of my concentrations in college) But this is just a slide show so no worries. There were a lot of picture to choose from over the last 10 days but I think that the butterflies are the most beautiful! Please enjoy. Most of the butterfly pictures were taken by me and all the pictures of Adam and I are taken by his Grandmother who is a photographer!

Italian Food and Family and a question for you!

Yesterday was a good day. We were able to have a wonderful dinner with Adam's grandma, aunt, uncle and cousin. We have been spending a lot A LOT of time simply relaxing. As a matter of fact I just woke Adam up! I know I know. He will sleep all day if he could. I am up with the sun most of the time.

My sketches are coming along nicely. I also have some new fabric ideas that I am going to try to make reality. These little guys will be my first adult attempt at sewing so we will see. No promises. My crafts I will be putting on Etsy. I am really biting at the bit to get back there and start to put all the ideas on canvas. I was talking a virtual waltz on eBay and noticed that many of the Halloween paintings don't have bids!!!!!!!!!!!! What is up with that! Sure it is only August, but think about shipping time people! So when I start to list my items in September understand that shipping does play a factor!

Well I am off now to watch the Olympics on HD!

QUESTION FOR YOU:
As I abover stated I am a sewing novice. But over the years I have notcied that people can actually draw or paint on the fabric. Almost as if the fabric was some kind of canvas. Help me out there people what is the name of this matieral that you can draw on and what can you draw on it with? What kind of seal to you have to put on it? I really really would like to know, but don't know a lot about it!

THANK YOU LOVELYS!!!!

Steph

To Grandma's House We Go/Halloween Collection Free shipping!

We are at Grandma's house and off the Yacht! I wish I had money to buy a boat like that. **I wonder how many paintings I have to sell to afford such a luxury** I hope everyone is doing well. I know I am definately enjoying my vacation and the time away from obligations.

Grandma moved into a new house (townhouse) and it is stunning. She cracks me up she is in the 70's and takes college courses and took up photography and photoshop and she is amazing at it. I could only hope to have a 1/4 of her drive at that age.

I will be coming home and hopefully banging out some paintings VERY VERY VERY soon. I am going through withdrawl. I will be starting my HALLOWEEN COLLECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I am really excited. I brought my sketch pad so there will be plenty of ideas. You all know it is my favorite holiday. So in honor of ALL HALLOWS EVE I will be running free shipping (on Ebay) on select Halloween pieces and discounts on on others through the month of September. You can reach my ebay through my blog under must visit links and my ebay name is seppie_inc

BALTIMORE

Howdy Folks,
Adam and I made it a-okay that is after we got out of the NY hail storm. We got into MD so late that all we wanted to do was sleep. But sure enough bright and early we were up ready to roll, so Adam, myself, and his exquisite Aunt Julie all went to the Baltimore Aquarium. This for the record was my first time in Baltimore. I think the most interesting thing was this weekend is the 15th annual Anime convention at what the local call the BCC. This is a huge world wide event and people spare no expense. I have never been into Anime, but I could definitely appreciate the creativity of the costumes they donned. We are heading out to the yatch later and that means no Internet access, but I will be sure to think of all my lovelys while I am out getting a tan. Stay cool...

Its My Firday and I will Go on Vacation if I Want to!

Hello my Lovelys

that is right folks I am heading off into the great unknown today (okay it is Maryland) but it is far far away from work!.. Okay okay I will stop rubbing it in. Realize I haven't been on vacation in forever.

I would like to thank everyone for the GREAT feedback. Props to my fiber art/mixed media group they really know how to welcome a lady.

Okat this little jobby to the right will be the LAST art post until I come back (don't worry I will be on the blogg, just might not be everyday). Something fishy is going on. Example, Monday I did the 'Am I Too' and I had an awful time with bathing suits the next day. And on Tuesday I painted the picture that you see here and last night I had the wildest most horrifying dream EVER. I will save you the grusome details. Please understand that I am 100% a horror fantatic watch it, create it (viedos and painting), and breath it, but last night was down right spooky. So this painting although I hope isn't forshadowing anything reminds us the keep our eyes peeled.

Of course I can justify the sweetness of this painting to. 'Not Alone' can represent the feeling we as woman have from other woman. There are many woman out there just like you that are 'lurking' in the shadows lookiing for a friend like you.

It is art people put your own spin on it. If a piece of art doesn't make you emote than it isn't the right piece for you!

I still haven't recieved any songs............ If you are new to the blog look at the blog heading "I am looking for you" and blog me with a song or email me at fantasticfigments@yahoo.com

Well busy busy girl today, even though I would love to stay and chat. Don't forget me while I am gone! Check back and see what I am doing on vacation, who knows what kind of trouble I will be getting into.]

Bagel Wednesday & And nakedness!!!!

YAYAYA it's Bagle Wednesday at work.. I can't wait. I love when I don't have to think about making breakfast in the morning. Soooooo... This was me yesterday ------>

after spending hours and hours looking for a bathing suit. If you can't tell by my runny makeup and makeshift sad face that I had no luck then I will try to take a picture of my bruised ego. I am a young lady of a short stature and find that finding a bathing suit it near impossible. NOTHING FITS!!! To make matters worse I went to three stores and they only had ugly ones left. If the straps aren't falling down than the crotch is droopy.. I CAN"T WIN! I am praying that they have some suits in Maryland where I will be on vacation... If not there will be a lot of NAKEDNESS.... and I promise it isn't pretty. OH TWELL..

Anywho! As I promised I would be putting up the second painting that I did Monday. I must have foreseen the problems I was going to be running into. This is poppy-cock. You are nothing but the most beautiful you! Although it is hard sometimes when you are looking in a three sided mirror under florescent lighting. But still I am who I am and that is all that I am. And that is coming from a guy that only uses one eye, has huge arm but small wrists, and whose voice could compete with Fran Dressers (Spelling). Just keep your head up and push forward. And remember if you ever need someone to talk to I am here. Don't second guess yourself or allow outside influences drag down your spirit.
Still waiting for some people to submit some song that they think I should use as a muse for my paintings. email me at fantasticfigments@yahoo.com or message me on the old blog. The musician/musicians will get full recognition on the back of the canvas and the painting will be selling on ebay.
Tip of the day: I know I have missed a day or two, but .... Are you having a hard time getting your paint brush to make super fine lines? Okay I think I might know what your prob is.... So you go into your art supply store and you buy the shortest thinnest bristled brush you can find. Makes perfect sense right? Only 1/2 wrong. You want to definitely get the thinnest brush but look for longer (no super long just long) bristles. Moreover the longer the bristle the more pressure the hair will absorb before the paint touched the canvas. With a short bristle bush the hairs are touching with full pressure. Also, hold the brush above the little metal piece, the wood will also absorb some of the pressure. High quality acrylics can also hinder the perfect find line since it can be heavy. There are plenty of products out there that will help thin the paint, but I have never been opposed to a touch of water. Oh ya and if you are doing mixed media scarp everything I just said and use an ultra fine sharpie :)
Best Wishes for my lovies today

Steph

I Am Looking For You

Howdy Howdy and Happy Morning to you all. Or Happy Afternoon or Night depending on what part of the world you are currently residing in.

So lets see.. As most of you know, if I should be so bold as to beat the dead horse, I will be on vacation in two days for the duration of 10 days and will not be painting BUT BUT... I was struck down with an idea yesterday. Explanation: I am a HUGE music lover and I love start up bands and musicians of all types, and I have always wanted to make a piece to reflects a song. This is where you come in! I would like you to send me via email/ myspace site, etc... a song from you, a band that you know, or maybe a Celtic sweetheart that you would like to see me turn into art. ALLLLLL suggestions are welcome. I will choose the lucky song when I arrive back in town and get my druthers about me. Sounds FUNNNNN right?!?!?! Lets make the magic happen people. Plus this is a great way to get your name out there. The artwork will be placed on ebay after completion and full recognition will be given to the musician/s with credits on the back of the painting.

On to different business. ISN"T THIS SOOO CUTE.... That is right and you can have an original! Sorry this one is spoken for, BUT BUT... I work on commission. This is a 5X7 that I can remake it to be customized to your bride or bride to be. Customization options: hair color, eye color, skin color, background color (not white), corner flower color, and a short text message (ex. Bride to Be, Here Comes the Bride, Going to the Chapel, no more than 4 words and no really long words) I say this because you want to be able to read them and this is a smaller table top canvas. At any rate this would make a GREAT GREAT bridal shower or wedding gift. Price is $35.00 + $4.00 shipping and handling, option for free gift wrapping, payment by money order only. GREAT offer, perfect gift DON"T pass it up!
I did do another piece last night but I think I will post that tomorrow since I am going to be BUSSY tonight. Can you believe I am going on a yacht (spelling)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but wait I don't have a bathing suit. Call me last minute Steph! In my defense, I haven't put on a bathing suit since last summer and I have lost about 25lbs and the one I had doesn't fit, but I didn't know, I thougth I could still make do. Oh well, good intentions right. So I will be suit hunting tonight and picking up odds and ends as I am not sure if I am going to have time to hit up the studio.
Must be off. My sweetest wishes for you today!

Reminder/ Special Annoucement(at the bottom)

*** Just a friendly reminder from your neighborhood artist!***** Starting August 8th I will be on vacation. During this time there will be no eBay listing or new painting, but I will be checking my blog frequently and when I come back there will be plenty of sketches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*******

This was an amazing weekend. A lot of neat occurrences took place and a lot of things fell into place. I don't know the answers to everything, I don't know if there is a God, or if there are angels but someone has been looking down on my lately with all the good fortune I have been having and I am infinitely thankful.

I have amazing parents. SOO SOO amazing, giving, caring, kind, funny, loving, compassionate, etc... Anyway. I received a call on Saturday that they were coming into town and my Dad wanted to take me on a shopping spree for art supplies. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEE.. I know I know. Believe me I am infinitely thankful. So I am all set on supplies. Due to such extraordinary kindness I made them a gift. And of course there is no better gift than a hand-made gift from the heart!

I am sure you have concluded that this original will never be for sale, but there will be prints made in the future selling on Etsy if you are interested. This is a great gift to give to your parents. You should always let your parents know how much you love them and how vital they were in making you the best you.

***Special Announcement**** If the sun star and moon align than when I return from vacation my video camera will be fixed... What does that mean!!!!!!!!!!!! VIDEO BLOGGGGGSSSSS... I know I can see the excitement on your face. I can't wait for you to join me on my adventures. Please check back frequently for updates.

**Tip of the day:

Finishes. Don't limit yourself. There are many many many different ways to seal off a painting/ piece of art. You don't have to do what everyone else is doing be different. Try a matte finish, try a glossy finish. Try it all. Use it all. Never limit your creativity

Steph

Sunday and The World Is Mine

You know that sometimes when you wake up that 'today is going to be a good day'. Great feeling! I knew today was going to be a good day because when I wanted into the living room it wasn't blistering hot. Yet another thing you should know about me. I have a very hard time handling the heat. Makes me feel oogie. Well I am sure you can see my new piece. Isn't she cute. I have had many new pieces this weekend.. call me productive. Sometimes you have to 'Rock On' to your own beat. How tired are we of the cookie cutter life styles out there. The mundane and the boring. Again people if life isn't fun WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING! So this little piece here is a reminder to all of us to let out inner rocker out sometimes to breath. Here is another newbie. As you can definitely tell I have been jazzing up the colors. It was a very rainy weekend here and of course I could find nothing but beauty in it. I love you run and laugh and play in the rain. Let loose and don't worry about getting your hair wet. Of course I wouldn't say that if I had somewhere nice to go, but that is when you get a fun Umbrella. And last but not least. I have been showing this collection slowly 'The Prissy Pooch'! Gotta love her. This snooty poodle is too cute for words. I posted the second one first but Here is the beginning!

I would like to take this time to say that all my originals will be for sale. THAT IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!! You will have the chance you have your very own realbie. But I need your help. Before I sell I need to archive all my painting (scan them) so I can make copies. I have scanned some on my home scanner, but I just can't get the color to come out like it should. Sometimes I use florescent ink and the scanner makes it super pale. So the tip off the day is a tip for me. Any suggestions? Oh ya and they have to be scanned digital cameras don't do the job as well.

Have the most rockin day ever!

Pink Poodle

Well if you read my last entry I am sure that you can conclude that I got my inspiration for this piece last night. Not that I was drinking Pink Poodles but you get the picture. I am a strict rum and coke girl, always have been always will be. My mom and I were both bartenders for several years. Although I have never had this drink before, it sure does sound good. Reminds me of a Grasshopper minus the chocolate.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Nice and gloomy outside just the way I like it. But of course it makes it hard to have any outside plans. I know Adam is itching to get out and do something and I don't blame him. He is sitting here watching the Bruce Willis Marathon..... Hostage being one of my favorite movies I am okay with this.
Last night was a lot of fun we met up with a bunch of our college friends about 10 people in call. Certainly was nice to see everyone .. a bit of a blast from the past. Although we see Corey almost every weekend it is still fun! If anyone has a good suggestions on what to do today let me know.

Tip of the Day:
Don't limit your mediums. .... ... it is called mixed media for a reason. Make sure you try all different things, including texture, this element can bring you piece to a whole new level.

Keep On Smiling

Steph

NIGHT ON THE TOWN

Hello Hello,
Adam (my long time boyfriend) and I are getting ready for a night on the town with our good friends.. Always promises to be a great time!!!! Nothing better then spending a warm summer night out with people who make you laugh. The day I stop laughing is the day I stop breathing. I probably won't be on too early tomorrow to write ...(cross your fingers for no hang overs) But I do have a new painting that I am DEFINITELY going to post. I think you will all really like it. Also by the end of the weekend I am going to make a few posts on my ebay before I go on vacation that are going to run the length of the time I am gone.. STAAAAYYYY TUNED

Smooches,
Steph

I never thought I would be so happy for Friday to roll around. Okay well I say that every Friday but it is always true! Last night I didn't do a paper doll painting, but I did attend a 1 stroke painting class with my mom. I will put up a photo of what we did soon. SOOOO cute I loved it, we did a little snowman on a glass plate. The class was fun and it was nice to do something different and take a little break.

Lately I have been doing some real soul searching regarding my career. I have a degree in Public Communication and I do well with it, but I just know that isn't what I want to do for the rest of my life. I think I am going to go back and get my art teaching degree. Might be a long process but if you aren't happy doing what you are doing than why do it! Life is way to short not to have fun and first and foremost be happy! You only go around once. For my visitors today, was there any big career change that you took or large move in your life that you did to make you a happier person? Let me know I am interested. When we stop changing we stop learning.

The panting above I did on Wednesday. This went along with my Travel painting. I saw the papers and thought they meshed nice together. I myself am not a beach person. Really not a beach person at all I much rather be in the mountain on a cool crisp fall day. As you continue to stay with me and read my entries you will definitely notice I am 100% head over heels in love with Fall and Halloween. They give me inspiration and make me happy! What are some things that make you happy?

Tip of the day:
1 stroke painting. If you haven't tried it, try it. Take a class they host them everywhere. If you always felt like you had no painting talent and the stick figure was your best friend this will change your mind. I was a skeptic since I have been painting the majority of my life, but it was fun and was a bit of a challenge. All different techniques. Plus, this little guys you can bang out in about an hour and they make GREAT gifts. If you try it let me know what you think.

Getting Ready!

'Text' May I go with you on this bright sunny morning

I made this soothing piece about 11pm last night. There is some turmoil going on in my life right now. Nothing awful but enough to make it uneasy. I am lucky I have the support of such a great guy. Anyway this picture represents where I want to be so I will stay positive and soon enough I will be there. Remebering to keep a positive attitude is important.

There is some exciting news!!! I am going on vacation next week (well Thursday the 7th), so that has been an inspiration for me as well. I am not going anywhere exotic just a weeks trip to Maryland to catch up with family, but this is my first vacation in a year! So I am very much looking forward to a little R & R. I am sure everyone could agree that it is easy to burn out and taking a little me time is VERY important. During that time I am not sure if I will be painting (I know I know) I am not sure if I am going to know what to do with myself!

I sold a painting on eBay last night. Getting your name out there sure isn't easy but I am slowly working on it! Please remeber to check out my auctions I post frequently and try to keep multiple pieces up. I will be putting some more on tonight.

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZseppie_inc

Tip Of The Day: Never underestimate the amazing wonder known as a Sharpie. I use them for many different purposes in my paintings. Look around, there are soooo many different colors and shade and are prefect for doing the smallest detail work!
