And They're Off

I live in a wondrous part of New York State. Not my favorite state, but I live in what I consider one of the best areas… Saratoga Springs. If you happened to have visited you surely understand what I mean. The area is full of culture and artistic flares. A place bread on tradition with a growing economic acceptance. If you have visited you have undoubtedly came to understand that one of Saratoga's oldest and most fond traditions is Saratoga Race Track.

A place not just in the movies where women are adorn in large flopping hats and fine threads. Since this is such a staple of our community my place of employment makes a point of allowing employees to reveal in the tradition by generously buying us all tickets to a one day of pampered track goodness.

I thought the least I could do was bring my camera. Unfortunately it was 90* yesterday but luckily we did have indoor A/C so we could hop between the two environments. Heat aside the day was full of fun and excitement of many as they clenched their tickets awaiting the final outcome. We did have some winner but yesterday there were no losers. Everyone in some way or another had a good time. That my friend is what Saratoga Springs is all about. No matter how steep the economic downturn will slide Saratoga will always be rich in tradition and history.

So as soon as the track begun it is soon gone. This event only lasts for a very short time but it is magical. I hope you enjoyed seeing a little piece of my world.
